Daily Devotional for December 26, 2020

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. Isaiah‬ ‭48:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Who is like the Lord? Nobody. As Joel Osteen writes in this morning’s devotional, “There will always be voices trying to convince you that you are headed in the wrong direction or that it’s too late to fulfill God’s promise. Stay with His promise.” Those voices can get the BEst of us, BEcause we genuinely want to do what’s right in eyes of (wo)man, and BEcause of that, sometimes the loudest voice in our heads is our own. Yet we must REmember that God is not a god of confusion. Therefore when we listen for His voice, though it may guide us in directions and to people that look wrong in (wo)man’s perspective, let us BE REminded that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8), but we can trust and BElieve He will not lead us where He has not gone BEfore us and HE will never forsake us. Faith walk with the Father for the future with Him holds favor, your fortune, and forever love unknown to (wo)man.

Jeremiah 20

As with Jeremiah, let us REmain GODfident in knowing that the Lord is with us like a mighty warrior; so our persecutors will stumble and not prevail (Jeremiah 20:11). As we listen to His voice and walk up rightly, following in His will and His way, nothing nor no one can keep us from His plan for our lives, plans to prosper us and not harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

REflection from Waiting on God

It’s no surprise that Dr. Charles Stanley’s devotional aligns with the discussion this morning, for our Father provides us REassurance and confirmation. In this life we will have to make choices and determine who to listen to and follow. I choose to follow our Lord and Savior for as we have already REad from Osteen this morning in Isaiah 48:17 that He teaches what’s BEst and directs us. From the book of Jeremiah the Lord is with us, and now it is REiterated that the Father has a plan for our lives as Stanley says, “The Father wants you to know His will for your life.... He’ll move heaven and earth to show you His will.” However, we must trust, BElieve, and do the the work, for Ephesians 2:10 is the REminder that “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” He has set the path, now let us walk in faith into our passion and purpose.
