Daily Devotional for November 21, 2020
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 1 Peter 4:12
Have you paid attention to your current situation? Do you feel stuck? If so, maybe this is a test of your faith. Is there something our Father is working to get your attention? As Osteen states maybe this is a time for you to say, “I recognize this as a time to grow.” The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again expecting different REsults. Instead of continuing to eat bad, knowing it makes you feel miserable after the fact, make healthier choices. Instead of feeling all alone during the pandemic, get in touch with your inner self and do some things just for you. Osteen REminds us, “God wouldn’t have me here if I didn’t need it.” Don’t just go T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) it, GROW through it.
Exodus 25
For all that Christ has done, is doing, and will do for us, may we offer up freely to Him. “...Everyone whose heart prompts them to give” shall do so freely whether with as much or as little as they possess...of gold or spices. GIVE. (Exodus 25:2;3 and 6)
REflections from Practicing Gratitude
I’m so grateful for my spiritual growth. I used to live a life of comparison, looking at others and assuming from the outside that they had it all together and were living the life, while I struggled. Yet God stepped in and gave me a new perspective about me. I truly came to understand the importance of not comparing my life to that of others, for all that glitters ain’t gold, and everything that looks good to you ain’t good for you. The devotional REminds us, “Comparison sabotages two relationships at the same time: your relationship with God, and your relationship with other people. You can’t fully love others when you’re jealous of them or trying to outperform them. And you can’t love God when you think maybe God has given you a bad deal.”
The lyrics to a hymn came to mind and provides comfort and REassurance as I REflect on this devotional. “Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say It is well, it is well, with my soul.” No matter your situation, know that everything God ordains and is working for your good.
3 John 1:2
The same thing we petition for ourselves, may we petition for others—wellness for the mind, body, and definitely the soul.🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
May the Savior soothe your soul this Saturday, my friend.
