Daily Devotional for November 15, 2020
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.1 Peter 2:21
“To grow, you may have to suffer through irritations as God works to refine you...and if this is where God has me, I must need it,” Joel Osteen says this morning. This message is so timely for me. I am in a place and I cannot put my finger on exactly why I’m feeling what I’m feeling, but I’m trusting my Father. I will continue to P.R.E.S.S. on, and not necessarily moving and going, but by Praying, REsting, Embracing, and Serving in Stillness. Sometimes we have to just BE—not doing and working to make something happen. I REmind myself even in this moment, EVERYTHING GOD ORDAINS (E.G.O.). Am I a bit irritated right now? Yes, BEcause of the unknown, the uncertainty, and BEing unclear, but I am REsting assured that a pearl awaits, birthing something new and beautiful that God has prepared for my life.
Exodus 19
As in Exodus 19, let us prepare ourselves for what God is preparing to bring forth to us, for He has a purpose and plan. Let us BE discerning with the steps we take, and we may wait upon the Lord for confirmation as He comes to us.
REflection of Jehovah Rophe
This morning as we BEgin a new series by Tony Evans, Jehovah Rophe, he says, “Much like the Israelites, it does not take long for any of us to forget what God can do because it does not take long for us to forget what God has done... and when we are faced with the immediacy of our needs, we quickly forget the long story of God’s mighty acts of deliverance and provision on our behalf.” Again, the theme of patience REsounds in today’s messages. If God has done it BEfore, He will do it again. Let us BE and REst assured that when we are in a place (as I am now) we can just BE still and know that He is God (Psalms 46:10) and know He will fight for us(Exodus 14:14) and our victory and REward is on the way.
John 15:4
Just BE. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Sit silently in His stillness this Sunday, my friend.
