Daily Devotional for December 13, 2020

“If you will only obey me, you will have plenty to eat.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭1:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The simplest things we do can have the most impact. A simple smile, saying thank you, a kiss, a little note—they all make a big difference and have a positive impact. As Joel Osteen says this morning, “When you take small steps to show your faith…you’ll see favor and opportunity that will thrust you to a new level.” As with our Father, our simplest act of faith shows a first step towards acceptance. What are you BElieving in God to do or help you T.H.R.O.U.G.H.(Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak)? The first step can BE the hardest yet the most impactful. Will you take a step in faith whether physically or mentally today?

Jeremiah 7

Even now, our Father welcomes us to come unto Him, especially after promises have BEen broken by (wo)man in our everyday lives. He sent word through Jeremiah saying, “But don’t be fooled by those who promise you safety... But I will be merciful only if you stop your evil thoughts and deeds and start treating each other with justice” (Jeremiah‬ ‭7:4-5). He goes further in verse 8 to REmind us, “Don’t be fooled into thinking that you will never suffer... It’s a lie!” God IS, no matter where or when. He’s only waiting on us to truly depend on Him.

REflection from Elisha: a Tale of Ridiculous Faith

There is so much that God wants to do in our lives, but many times our perspective of what we are going T.H.R.O.U.G.H. (Trials, Hurt, REgrets, Obstacles, Uncertainty, Guilt, Heartbreak) places limitations on us. As Pastor Craig Groeschel imparts this morning, “Maybe you can relate to the widow (in 2 King 4) in that when you don’t think you have enough, you feel desperation and focus solely on your limitations. God sees your problem much differently from the way you do...God specializes in doing a lot with a little...and during those times ...remember that what you have is all God needs.” Little BEcomes much when we place it in God’s hands. Let us trust Him and keep the faith and watch Him pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it, as in Malachi 3:10.

Isaiah 9:10

You might BE down today, but there is a Light of love awaiting to lift you. You just have to lift up your head to the hills—that’s where you’ll find strength. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Search within yourself this Sunday for the strength to take a step, my friend.
