Daily Devotional for August 20, 2021
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Luke 12:32 KJV
In the words of Osteen this morning, “You won’t become all you were created to be without opposition, challenges, and difficulties that cause you to stretch and grow and use your spiritual muscles.” We must get out of our comfort zones and get comfortable with the uncomfortable. Nothing can BE birthed without uncertainty, discomfort, and many times pain and adversity in some capacity. Know if you are experiencing those things or thoughts, stay the course and see it through, for there is greater in store for you.
Joshua 1
As the Lord spoke to Joshua after the death of Moses and commands him, let us also “Be strong and courageous… Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do… Do not be afraid or discouraged.” This is His command—be strong and courageous, for the Lord our God is with us wherever we go, as written in Joshua 1:6-9.
REflection from Sharing Your Faith
This morning’s message from “Sharing Your Faith” by Youversion encourages us, “Always be on the lookout for how you can introduce someone to Jesus through an invitation.” Think about all of the invites we send to people at work nowadays BEcause of virtual meetings through Zoom and Microsoft Teams. What would happen if you sent an invite for after hours or the weekend, extending an opportunity for a coworker or two to join you to experience Christ? As with the samaritan woman at the well, the devotional says, “She didn’t have to know all of the right things to say or do, she simply had to say, ‘Come and see!’ And they did.” Extend an invitation to Christ to someone, and let Him handle the REst.
Isaiah 26:4
He never wavers nor grows weary; he’s the firmest foundation for our lives, on which we can always depend. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Fix your footing upon the Father—the firmest foundation this Friday, my friend.
