Daily Devotional for September 26, 2020

“A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭20:24‬ ‭

I am truly understanding the statement that we’ll understand things better by and by. When we truly give our lives to Christ and let him lead us, we truly understand better what a faith walk is all about. I REcall a team-building activity called a trust walk, where one is blindfolded and must REly on peers to lead them through an obstacle course. From experience, I may have acted like I trusted, but inside there was hesitation and REservation. But God is not like (wo)man. As Osteen simply put it, “God orders our steps and our stops.” Why wouldn’t we put our trust in the All Knowing God, who can do all things but fail?!

Experience is the BEst teacher, and I’ve tried Him for myself. I will no longer REturn to trying to understand and figure things out on my own, BEcause what I have experienced with Him when I truly trust Him, has REsulted in Him blessing me exceedingly abundantly more than I could ask or think. Why wouldn’t we want that?

Deuteronomy 13

Not only is this JOurneY we are on a faith walk, but it is a testament of our faith. As in Deuteronomy 13, The Lord our God is testing us to find out whether we love him with all our heart and with all our soul. It is the Lord our God we must follow, and him we must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him...for if we do, He will show us mercy, and will have compassion on us. He will increase our numbers, as he promised on oath to our ancestors.” (Deuteronomy‬ ‭13:3-4‬; 17) ‭

I love the way Tony Evans simply explained why God wants to bless what we sow. Evans says, “God is interested in meeting your need as long as meeting your need is going to help you grow in your godly character and living.” The more we trust Him, the more we want to share and display what He’s done for us. We want to tell of His goodness and unspeakable JOY He has brought to our lives. We BEcome walking billboards, for we know the person we are BEcoming and the things that continue to unfold would never BE possible without our lives BEing in His hands.

As I REflect on all the things that He has done in just the past 6 months of my life during a pandemic, when others only focused on the negative of our circumstances and state, I can truly say God has met my needs in unexpected ways so that I can further serve Him through my faith walk and assisting others through their JOurneYs. As my theme song by Mary Mary says, everything people see and experience right now, “Is the God in me!”

Romans 3:23-24

We are of flesh and can only strive for perfection but will fall short. Yet our Father is a God of a second chance, who forgives and forgets when we walk in faith. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈

Step side by side in stride with the Savior this Saturday, my friend.
