Devotional for September 5, 2020
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The death of my father truly made me change my perspective about time. If you’ve been around me any, you are likely to hear me say, “Live in the moment with no REgrets.” I am so grateful that Everything God Ordains (EGO). He made it so that I was able to share in each day of my father’s life, from December 14th when I drove him to the hospital, until January 3rd when he passed. That’s when God moved in me and had me change my focus on appreciating the time that I am given in the now. As Osteen’s devotional speaks to this morning, We have to take life one day at a time. We don’t have the strength we need for tomorrow. When we get to tomorrow , we’ll have the strength for that day. THIS is the day the Lord has made. Let us REjoice and BE glad in it (Psalm 118:24). Live in the moment with no REgrets THIS day, my friend.
Ecclesiastes 4
Ecclesiastes 4 speaks to companionship and says, “Two are better than one...though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9, 12). May we build RElationships in this life with those in Christ and work to bring others to Christ so we all may dwell with Christ.
As we go along this day and the next, we do not know what the next moment holds. May we work with all our heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters (Colossians 3:23), and as Steve Repak encourages us, this will allow us to plan for the worst in life, hope for the best, and pray for the rest.
Philippians 4:7
Surrender your heart and your mind to the One who can and will provide a peace that surpasses all understanding. 🙏🏽💚🦋🌈
Surrender this Saturday, my friend.
